Duties and
Responsibilities:
Their area
lies in the activities they carry out especially in the area of organizing
environmental programs. They make sure that foods are protected, the right
pesticide used and sewage's are effectively disposed. That is not to say that
the issue of health maintenance is the only responsibilities of the environmental
health specialist.
Therefore,
every health specialist should be able to have a wider knowledge with the causes
of any health hazards. Ensure that every environment has a good plan that will
help protect and avoid the risk of any pollution or infection. They should
always be aware in the investigation and possible causes of every disabilities,
diseases and other health hazards.
Average
yearly salary: $45,340 and $78,980
Education: To
become an environmental health specialist, the lowest of schooling is a bachelor's
degree, even though the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics states that most
employers rather have candidates with a master's degree in environmental
science or another natural science. So it’s best to go for that master’s
degree. Work experience, internships and/or research in environmental science
are also recommended. Environmental health specialists work a lot with the
people, strong communications skills, both oral and written, are likely for the
job.
No I would not like to be an environmental health specialist because I’m
not good with reading labels and picking out what might be bad for you. I’m not
really a health person I thought I was but then ended up knowing I’m not. I am
a journalist, I am a writer. I love writing and that is my speciality:P
